Kemira 2025 - Espoo - 1500 m²

EriCa Green Chemistry Park, located in Finnoo, Espoo, was completed in 2025. Kemira is the main user of the building. Covering 21,150 square metres, the development includes laboratories, office spaces and a conference centre. We were responsible for the concept and interior design of Kemira’s office spaces and carried out an extensive workplace development process as part of the project.

The collaboration began with a design competition in which Kemira was looking for a new visual and functional concept for the office spaces of its new research centre. The aim was to create a welcoming office floor alongside the laboratory environment, bringing together employees from different parts of the building. Our concept was to make the office floor the warm heart of the building, providing space for work, interaction and collaboration.

Workspaces and break areas that had previously been located alongside individual laboratories were brought together in the new workplace environment. The floor includes a variety of work settings, such as quiet work areas, retreat spaces, team areas and meeting rooms. Customised storage solutions were also designed to meet the needs of the employees. In addition to the workspaces, a large shared break area was created, including a kitchen for lunch breaks and a separate coffee point. The variety of work and break areas supports different ways of working while encouraging interaction and collaboration among employees.

The visual identity of the office floor was designed to complement the architecture of the building and Kemira’s brand. Natural materials and a carefully considered colour palette create a welcoming atmosphere that distinguishes the office spaces from the laboratory environment. Kemira’s brand is reflected in the colours and in the custom graphics designed for the project, which were implemented not only in the office spaces but also in the laboratories.
