Timeless office space in a building from 1920s

The office space of The Association of Finnish Lawyers was reconstructed to meet the modern-day standards. The project kicked off with an office environment survey and a vision workshop where guidelines for the project were decided. We were given an interesting task to design a functional office space which supports collaboration and has a strong visual brand identity. We were in charge of architectural and interior design in the project.

The office space is located on two floors in a historic building from the 1920s. Working areas are located on one floor while the event and conference area in on another floor. Those two areas were reconstructed with a different extent. Office floor went through a full reconstruction where everything from building technology to surface materials were updated. To the event floor we designed a lighter face-lift where old and new materials form a layered wholeness.

The brand identity was an inspiration for the visual moodboard. Bold brand colors were adjusted to fit the classic architecture of an old building from the 1920s. Symbols from jurisprudence were used in selected details to add more personalized character to the interior design.
