Burger King Helsinki Central Railway Station 2014 - Helsinki - 470 m2

GI has a long experience working with listed buildings.

The Helsinki central railway station is a listed historical building designed by Eliel Saarinen in 1914. Due to the building’s historical value, design was done in close cooperation with the National Board of Antiquities.
Burger King’s design guidelines allowed for the restaurant to be implemented in the unique space. No structural changes were made in the big hall. One of the biggest concerns during the process was the massive wall fresco Koli by Eero Järnefelt above the service desk; would it be affected by the kitchen grease fumes. The fresco is now protected with a powerful air conditioning system.
